Final promo card for the month will be the site Wyatt's Junkyard. No info on stats yet, but my prediction would be a discard themed site that creates 2 mana Wyatt for the agenda.

    New Game Mode ideas?

    Posted: 24 Jul 2020 01:08 PM PDT

    Hey everyone,

I really think this current new set is cool but I'm getting to a point where I'm bored climbing Throne and EXPD (due to certain problem cards we all know) but also have no gold for Drafts because of that. Facing the same decks over and over really makes you want to take a break from this game sometimes, but I can never escape the Eternal gravity so here we are.

Well in this situation, what do I play? Sealed League is too RNG with your packs' contents which you have no control of, Draft I love but too expensive at 5k gold unless your a master, Casual/Solo is relaxing but not for my competitive spirit.

Then it hit me, wouldn't a new play mode like this be awesome?

    ===== 24Hr Draft =====

    • 1K Gold entry fee. (Maybe 2K if too generous)
    • You pick cards to make a 45-card deck just like in normal Draft with the same card pool, but you don't keep the cards for your collection.
    • Deck exists only for 24 hours counting from your 1st game.
    • Same queue as standard Drafts to improve queue times for both.
    • Rewards are same as EXPD/Throne: Bronze > Bronze > Silver Chest etc.
    • Daily ladder showing Top-100 total wins/losses for bragging rights only? (Ladder reward if 2K Gold entry fee, maybe 1-2 Gold Chests at best no premiums)
    • If you don't like your deck just create another one by paying the entry fee again. (Resets your record of wins of course)

    PROS:

    1. It will help new players gain more experience in Drafting without the huge entry fee & risk.
    2. Power screws/floods will not be so back-breaking for your wallet & health.
    3. More diversity for the game & you can still play standard Drafts once you collect enough gold. All that experience you now gained will be useful!
    4. Players will pick the "strongest" cards rather than for card rarity in most cases, so this should in theory make "Rare-Drafting" even better for standard Drafters going for collections/Shiftstones.
    5. It uses the same card-pool as standard Draft so balance should not be a problem.

    CONS:

    1. If not same queue as standard Draft, queue times might become much longer potentially & also small impact on other queues as well.
    2. DWD needs to create another "dummy" pool at the beginning? :P

    ====================

Well I don't know but I think I will really dig something like this, what other ideas do you guys have? Its highly unlikely this will happen but you never know! :D

    New player LF>Budget decks

    Posted: 24 Jul 2020 03:53 PM PDT

Looking for budget deck list resources! Hoping I can find something as a new player that hasn't bought any campaign cards yet.

I've looked on eternalwarcry.com but not too much success even after toggling the max shift stone cost filter.

    Any help is appreciated!

Is eternal the best digital card game?

    Posted: 23 Jul 2020 05:17 PM PDT

The card games that i perceive as competing with this gem are hearthstone and Mtg Arena. I think that eternal is the most friendly to people that do not want to commit a lot of money to the game. There are plenty meaningful rewards and the gameplay is IMO even better than Hearthstones and Mtg's but that is just personal preference. What do you think?

    Edict Control

    Posted: 24 Jul 2020 07:17 AM PDT

    Deep Announcer Voice

From the creator of the Evenhanded Golem Meta and the meme decks Kesava Racket, Azindel Scattershot, and Infinite Destinies brings you the following.

    End Voice

Have you ever wished you could play play recurring board wipes without running an actual win con? Me too, but in all honesty, win cons are necessary. You can't just hope your opponent concedes for you even though they can't play anything. That is just how the world works. But what if I told you a little secret. While that isn't possible, you can just run one Edict of Shavka and Maelestrom Bell and run your opponent mad with your unstopable power!

But wait, you ask, isn't this just that deck that runs Maelstrom Bell and End of the Line ...

    ...

    no ...

    ...

    ok yes.

Props to that creator, because hes the real MVP for helping me take off with the idea. But what makes this any better? Glad you asked.

    1) introduction of Vows allows you to easily splash 1 fire sigil for your edict 2) introduction of Wsteland Broker allows you to fill your deck with Maelstrom Bells for extra damage amplification 3) introduction of Know When to Hold 'em to tutor for your Temporal Distortion/Board Wipes early in the game to allow you to get past turn 5/8

And that's it. I currently have a ~92% win rate casual (cant play ranked as sometimes I have to quit games randomly) with this, probably because once you play a board wipe every turn while also drawing 3-4 cards your opponent auto concedes. I hope I can fill you all with the joy of running around causing endless destruction, but until next time fellow people.

    Deck List: https://eternalwarcry.com/decks/d/CROdwNFv34k/edict-control

TLDR: Play this deck if you have no life. Instructions: Step 1, Play Bell; Step 2, wait 30-50 turns; Step 3, Profit?

Not being able to cast fast spells while attacking with my own weapon is quite confusing

    Posted: 24 Jul 2020 05:06 AM PDT

Playing with Just Desserts, I have screwed myself a couple of times, thinking I can cast it while attacking with weapon, but there is no window for fast spells when attacking, which is weird because there is a window for the opponent. I know I can play it before attacking, but when something says "Fast", I intuitively wait for the fast window to attack :) It's confusing

A truly factionless deck, but I haven't tested it.

    Maybe delete TTS?

    Posted: 24 Jul 2020 01:42 AM PDT

This might be an unpopular opinion but in my experience of playing thisgame this is the worst offender for causing frustrating and unfun gameplay.

And like the grazer and the pres-gang nerf it also feels like this card having to be this good has something to do with keeping EHG in check (and trickshot ruffian) which makes this even more infuriating.

Gameplay wise I really dont care about having EHG or trickshot ruffian at this powerlevel. But having TTS at this powerlevel severly damages my playing experience.

At least a nerf to 4 cost would be so greatly appretiated. (recognising it will then be in the transpose markets but then it at least would only be 1.)

If somebody could turn all those TTS to frogs it would also be greatly appretiated.

p.s. : "Better not play the card ur gameplan revolves arround. You re gonna lose it anyways." And then proceeds the pure draw rng part. "Will I draw the 3 cards in my deck that are now useless or not? Fun and interactive." Because breaking aegis on my units is so hard "opponent proceeds to juck snowballs at 2 of my units and my face before using his 3rd TTS in one game."

I really love this game. But I had alot more fun before this card entered the scene. Sorry for the negativity. I just needed to share my experience.

What does plunder do in a factionless deck?

    Posted: 23 Jul 2020 07:10 PM PDT

I've been theory crafting a factionless deck for a while and slowly but surely getting all the pieces, and i've added Beseech the Throne to it, what happens when plunder hits a factionless card in a factionless deck?
