No, this is not a joke. Unfamiliar Interloper makes a 5 colour Keelo Shrine deck possible. Allthough I had to sacrifice high influence cards like Gentler Grazer, the deck still performed surprisingly well with an 25:11 record from diamond 3 to master. The Transpose market is debatable, but I have an unhealthy love for that card, so I decided to use it instead of Blazing Salvo or Crack the Earth. For a more indepth explanation of the deck look at the Warcry link.

Help me to enjoy Eternal again!

    Posted: 17 Apr 2020 09:33 AM PDT

    Hi All,

Long time lurker, first time poster (I think). I have played Eternal for around 2 years. It was my first foray into CCGs since my teen years and I loved it. I made masters consistently each month for around a year, drafted badly, participated in League and every event. Then after watching some streamers I found Mythgard. It has 40 card decks, a lane system, involved and communicative devs and a high skill cap. The card burning for 'mana' mechanic means you don't have mana flood/screw. The contrast between Eternal and Mythgard has laid bare some of the issues I have always had with Eternal. I have kept playing Eternal but I am finding it harder and harder to switch on.

I seem to be having three main issues:

1/ The ever expanding card pool is making it difficult to keep on top of the metagame and understand what cards my opponent could play next. I used to make masters with some jank and a smattering of aggro but that doesn't seem to be enough anymore. Top tier decks are just not at all fun to play, or to play against. This meta feels swingy and bad.

2/ The recent merchant changes suggest that the devs are making a concerted effort to move away from consistency in Eternal. Each match is starting to feel like a toss of the dice, which deck will I be up against, will I have a usable hand, will I flood, will they hit a bomb first. I don't feel as if I have any agency at all besides which deck I pick.

3/ There are so many events that I just can't keep up. This counts counter intuitive but I like to participate. I have a bit of a hoarder mentality and I liked collecting the majority of card backs and participating in events. I don't feel that I am a part of the game anymore because I don't have the time to sink into it.

I love Eternal content creators and regularly still watch ThatResolves' Youtube channel and the Misplay podcast. I want to keep playing and supporting the game but I don't know what efforts to take to stay involved in a meaningful way. I feel as if I stop playing I will fall behind the curve of card acquisition and never be able to catch up again.

TLDR: Has anyone else encountered burnout and how did you overcome it? Are you happy with the direction of Eternal in terms of the skill:high roll ratio?

Stuck on initializing data since yesterday(after patch maybe?)

I've been trying to get into the game since yesterday but have been unable to do so. It goes past the initial screen, the connecting and authenticating screen but then gets stuck on the initializing data screen forever, anyone else having the same issue?

    Playing on windows/steam.

I've been playing CCGs like Eternal, Elder Scrolls Legends, and Hearthstone since they started basically. I always hear people complain about not being able to compete or get stuff without spending a ton of money. I think I spent maybe $25-50 a year on Eternal and now have 500,000 soulstones. Thing is. It's a grind. But if you are careful with resources and save up after not too long you can bank enough that'll last long term. Also I have a very full collection of Legendary sets (and rares). I do break down pretty much anything I won't play but keep cards to fill in the "1 of" collection stats.

So. I saved this up over two years and now I don't think I ever have to save again. This will most likely last me forever (there is still trash I can break down and I am now around 505,000).

So. If you like the game but you're down about getting cards just know it takes time if you're gonna go free (or low money).

Note: I have 3 kids and a part time job and play on my commute to work maybe 45 minutes a day. All nighters and hours on end days ended for me years ago!

Crating suggestions welcome I like mid-range decks or control (not so much aggro).

    Have fun.

    Gauntlet cheats!

    Posted: 16 Apr 2020 07:27 PM PDT

Well...not really but it sure seems like everytime I get a 7-0 in Masters the next few games are ridiculous...either too much power, too little power or insane draws by the AI!

In all seriousness though...masters gauntlet really should let you get one loss......in 7 games it is very difficult to not get powered screwed or power flooded at least once.
