Posted: 30 Jun 2020 04:44 AM PDT Hi, I've been running a discard/lifeforce deck for a while, and was wondering where I could improve it to provide more consistent results. It does have a couple of cool combos that sometimes fire independently and intertwine. Currently I sometimes struggle in early game and against flyings. I see no help as to what win-loss ratios actually are ranked at and it's kind of insulting that ECG devs think looking at the ten players around my placement qualifies as helpful. | Finally someone ragequit on me. Posted: 30 Jun 2020 02:05 AM PDT I'm relatively new to Eternal, so pardon for not calling out all cards by name. I've built a Shadow/Time deck revolving mostly around discards, lifesteal and lifeforce. Pretty successful in gauntlet, had some good matches with it in Throne too. Last game I went against a player who had a pretty good hand with his primal deck, some polymorphs and draw cards. Pretty tough for me. I have some cards which require sacrifices such as Thornbeast or Nahid's Faithful, so I usually keep them on hand until I get some cultists or ravens up. This time around these helped with salvaging the remains of the polymorph. Yet the situation was tough, some pretty big creatures spawned and my health was draining. My deck does leverage discarding the opponent's deck. I do keep cards like Argentport Ringmaster (play 5 random cards from enemy void on infiltration) in the deck to leverage that even further. Infiltration is no easy matter mid-game, so Vara's Intervention (unblockable) comes in handy too. At one point the opposing player plays a spell that lets him draw two and discard two cards. For some reason he discards a mythic creature 7/7 with 'entomb: destroy enemy creatures'. At that point I have some 1/1 - 1/4 creatures up only, and I'm down to 10ish health. I had my ringmaster already played, so I inflitrate with Vara's and play that creature the next turn. At that point he draws a card making all of his creature flying. I'm on my last turn or two. I draw Nahid's Faithful. I play it. The 7/7 with entomb is sacrificed. Whirlwinds engulf his side of the playmat. 5 seconds after he quits at 30+ health. This game can be frustrating when people have lucky hands, decks full of blue+ quality cards etc. Moments like these though make me grin for quite a while. I wish there was a way to replay matches. Maybe I'll use the nvidia thing next time. Post yar stories! [link] [comments] |
