Trying to make a budget Wyatt expedition deck, any help greatly appreciated.

    Posted: 31 Jul 2020 12:30 PM PDT

I want to make a budget deck utilizing Wyatt and his new site Wyatt's Junkyard. I would like to run 4 copies of each to maximize their influence/impact during games. Can anyone offer any help? What should the deck be trying to do? Should I utilize unblockable on Wyatt? Or maybe double attack? Is the deck more manageable if I don't make it expedition format? Or is this type of deck too slow to function? Thanks in advance for any help given.

    Meta Snapshot 7/31/2020

    Posted: 30 Jul 2020 04:43 PM PDT

    Meta Snapshot 7/31/2020

Breakdown of the Meta since the last Meta snapshot. Shaded regions in the main graph indicate 5% of the meta, any particular deck archetype encompassing more than 5% of the meta is labeled, factions are shown if they make up more than 2.5% of the meta. Decks making up more than 5% of the metagame were plotted on the Reactivity and Otherzoniness metrics.

This is the third installment of Meta Snapshots and I'm all out of ideas on how to get more games submitted at this form. Getting either format to 200 games took a long time and when I could see the silver lining for expedition submissions for expedition stopped.

Thanks to those that did submit games:

    LowKeyTrickster
    Brantar
    Sigmatank
    and
    pruwyben

Because data collection took so long things got smeared out a bit, we had the throne ECQ, FILP and two balance updates since the last Snapshot. 203 games were submitted for Throne, 175 for Expedition.

With he throne data, Xenan ambush sits in the pole position, but it got hit by the nerfs and we see an aggro dominated metagame, with Stonescar, Rakano, Mono Fire and although there were Unitless and Spellcrag entries in the data, the bulk of both Skycrag and Hooru going for the jugular. If the Reactivity vs. Otherzoniness plot looks as if there's a deck missing, it's because Mono Fire and Stonescar both hit the same spot.

Expedition suffers from little new data (all I hear is that it's Rakano heavy, but in the data, Stonescar dominates, followed by two Elysian deck types (The False Prince, Cirso, ImbueKillerTransform deck, and the Helio + Conjurer builds - the only deck in either format to land in the upper right quadrant of RvO and thus earning its place as the one control deck that's somewhat popular - cue an outcry from twitch chats, where the consensus seems to be that the constructed formats are all exclusively control decks). Then there's also Xenan ambush (I played the shadow heavy version to masters and dodged the nerfs) followed by mono primal and mono shadow, both of which have been doing quite well. And only then do we get to Rakano surge. Argenport mid completes the roundup of decks passing the bar to get mentioned.

So, the next snapshot will happen either in one week (one can dream, right?) or whenever I have collected 200 games in either format, whichever comes first.

If you are playing either constructed format, please consider submitting your games. The form will take up to 5 games (but you can submit fewer). It's hard to interpret data on the meta that is a smeared out as it was this time because of course there have been shifts after the balance updates and the ECQ, but if games only trickle in it all becomes a wash.

It’s Time to Draft the Hard Way in Eternal - Guest Article by Schaab

How should I spend my gold?

    Posted: 30 Jul 2020 09:15 PM PDT

So I'm a new + returning player. I played 2 sets back and ended up dropping the game just because of being slightly overwhelmed by a new card game and my tiny brain saying "Stick to the stuff you've already spent time on". But I decided to come back just because I remember really enjoying the freshness of it, and as someone who just enjoys art of all kinds including the art of these cards, I wanted to jump back in.

I've already found plenty of the useful guides over on the side. But I noticed I had some gold from before (5000) and check the store noticed packs were 1000 each, theme decks are 3000, Forge is 2500, and Draft is 5000.

Now I like collecting of all kinds, and I have a very small anxiety issue when it comes to playing new games against real people. It's always a slow process and sometimes I get a little discouraged when I lose a bunch starting out.

What are your suggestions for a new player spending gold? Or is there a guide I missed somewhere that talks about it?

    MMR Question

    Posted: 31 Jul 2020 06:22 AM PDT

I'm diamond III, and have been since July 7. it's frustrating! I'm currently on an 8 game losing streak. But I'm still matched against Diamond III-I. Is there any point where I'll start getting matched against gold players again?

First Card game I have played where I can go 3 days without more than 2 power in my hand.

    Posted: 31 Jul 2020 07:13 AM PDT

I love this game but the RNG is getting so bad. I get nothing but doubles or no power for 3 days straight and over 30 games. I dont know what changed but this game is the worst it has been in years on RNG.
