New TNT Throwdown Series: First Tournament in Serf Format

    Posted: 11 Apr 2021 07:22 AM PDT

Hi, folks. marvin_the_imp of Team Not-Tavrod here to announce a new series of five TNT Throwdown tournaments, the first will start this Wednesday (4/14). The format will be Serf.

Since organized play is going on, we're cutting back on how frequently we run these tournaments to every other week. This will also give folks time to brew in between tournaments.

These are open to all, free tournaments. Join our team discord and ask for the Tournament Player role.

    Serf Format Rules

    • Deck must be 75 cards and consist of commons, uncommons, and must contain 4 rares or promos. Rares/promos must be single copies only.
    • Campaign cards are not allowed.
    • Markets are open. One card in your Market may be of any rarity, including legendary, while each other card must be a common or uncommon.
    • You may only have one copy of a Bargain card between your main deck and Market.
    • Sites are banned in this format.

    Tournament Dates and Formats

    Series Point System

Points will be awarded to players as follows:

    • 1 point for participating in the tournament and playing at least one game.
    • 1 point per games won (where a game is a single game in a best of 3 match).
    • In a top 2 or top 4 scenario, points are awarded on a 1 point per game win basis.
    • 1 point is awarded to the tournament winner each week.

If the total number of players is 7 or fewer, the bracket will be one group with no playoff. If the total number of players is 8 or more, the bracket will be two groups with a playoff of the winners of each group. If we have 12 or more players, there will be a top 4 playoff and a finals.

    Tournament Structure and Discord

For those not familiar with a TNT Throwdown tournament. They run from Wednesdays 12pm Central US time to Sundays 7pm Central US. They are round robin, so you play all opponents in your group whenever you can. There are no set "rounds" like in a Swiss tournament. Join the team discord to participate, test decks, and get in on the fun.

Welcome to Mind-Melting Plays with Sunyveil, TDK, and Stormblessed Episode 999: The Quickening. In this episode, Suny demonstrates how misplaying twice on turn two whilst ignoring SB's suggestion of making the correct line leads to an easy victory on turn 5.
