    Eternal Card Game Uprising Decklists

    Eternal Card Game Uprising Decklists

    Uprising Decklists

    Posted: 02 Jul 2021 05:07 AM PDT

Hi folks. marvin_the_imp here. In advance of this weekend's Uprising pauper event, Team Not-Tavrod and friends decided to offer up some deck ideas in case people were looking for something to play and didn't have a deck handy. We've tested them. Some decks are good, some could probably be better, and one deck in particular is gas. We suggest making the markets your own. We give you some suggested markets, but feel free to choose cards you have in your collection.

    Relic Sentinels by TNT Mimp

This deck came out of a TNT Throwdown tournament and has been slightly updated for the rules of this event. The general gameplay consists of getting Lethrai Courtier out early, drop relics to draw power and ramp, and then play fat Sentinels.

    Skycrag Burn by TNT Mimp

This deck was pretty good in testing, though Second Sight was switched out because it's just annoying when it's your only play and you'd rather not put something that doesn't help on top of your deck. And Knucklebones in the market because, Knucklebones.

    Fast Feln by TNT EarthsOverseer

It wouldn't be an Eternal format without feln control, right? This deck holds up more power than temporal distortion players and gets away with it thanks to a lot of fast draw spells. Boiling Geyser, Fatal Misstep and Bottled Insight help the deck get to its late game market card or simply Rosebloom Mandrake beatdown. There is also a single transform effect just in case you face someone recurring one bomb threat over and over. Budget market options include Lightning Storm, Noxious Wyvarch, Re-read, Jotun Hurler and Permafrost.

    Rakano Onis by TNT EarthsOverseer

Play onis and use your market card to seal the game! Your goal should be to go wide and use your fast spells to force through attackers. Pauper onis got quite a few tools in recent sets such as Inoa's Fury acting as a fire faction rapid shot and Reliable Troops making us feel a bit safer when keeping 2 power hands. Budget market options include cards like Cloud of Ash, Autotread, Oni Battledriver, Shogun's Scepter and Hanaka Loremaster.

    Xenan Sacrifice by TNT LordPerth

This deck is built around one of the strongest cards in the pauper format: Nahids Faithful. It tries to play Faithful (and if you don't draw it, Marsh Dragon, Thornbeast or one of your market bombs) repeatedly, optimally with killer on the recurring unit. The deck has a lot of sacrifice fodder to enable all of that and to allow your important units to grow bigger with each recurrence..

    Skycrag Berserkers by meverz

Very straightforward gameplan, play berserk units, buff them with weapons, remove blockers and beat face.

**** Edited because reddit cut off LP's deck description and meverz's deck entirely. Also edited for headers. Stoopid reddit. ****

I want private draft tournaments so bad.

    Posted: 02 Jul 2021 09:13 AM PDT

hey DWD. im about to head out to my family reunion and i would really like to be able to share eternal with them. the problem is that they would be new players with no cards. not a great thing to share, heres a game where its quite a climb to be able to build decks that are known to be fun to play. even pauper or peasant format decks are extremely expensive for the new player who is just starting to build up a collection. the theme decks help a bit, but they vary in power so much it's a little crazy. and if nobody just wants to play a bunch of mirrors, especially when deck building is such a core aspect of the game. for my situation it would be perfect if we could pay to do a private 4-8 person draft. draft is a pretty great format, but being able to play against my family would make it perfect.

whew. thats a bit of a rant.

i'm sure there's things others can add, but i just needed to get that off my chest.

Welcome to Ep. 101--the highly anticipated follow up to our ground-breaking, best, most highly acclaimed episode ever. AI bug in gauntlet (description in comments)

    Posted: 02 Jul 2021 10:43 AM PDT

You all were so encouraging and helpful yesterday. I've taken much of your advice and am already enjoying the game more. Here's a sonnet on Subversive Slug as thanks.

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 12:39 PM PDT

Last night I started playing ranked instead of casual and already started to feel a difference. I'm playing what I want and caring less about losing-- and remembering that what actually gives me a thrill in this game is the unexpected. If I make it myself, great; if someone else plays weird too, even better, but it's fine.

Here's a sonnet on the accursed subversive slug-- the homebrewing with it starts today.

    ...

Thou awful S! Thou surreptitious slug,
Drenched in a slick quicksilver, yet not drenched,
For you've no body there for wet to hug.
Each sling and arrow flung at you is quenched
And every insult—even those writ now—
Fails to deliver its impact on you.
I dare you mock me back! Spit at my brow!
Nay! Say that thou art rubber, and I glue.
Say it, and find another you can wear
Upon, absorbing all at their expense.
Just please, go fester other gardens, where
Others may offer you novel offense.
(Despite my plea, how much you wanna bet
That you'll be there in the next pack I get.)

    Question Regarding the Sealed League

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 05:34 PM PDT

I joined the League and went 7-3. It says I can play up to 20/30 games to improve my ranking? How does this work? Is it only for tie breakers or do I need to play 30 per week?

That joke about the league rankings accurate?

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 09:54 AM PDT

I was solidly in the 2501-5000 bracket and it appears that I didn't get any packs for the league ending. I'm pretty sure I normally would've been paid out by now, but it's not like DWD gives an explicit timeline for stuff.

The odds we have 5000 people doing league seems real low these days, but this must have impacted at least a couple hundred others

Isn't Davia just a little too ridiculously good for control? For that matter for any deck in Primal that wants to get to 6 power, isn't it an auto-include?

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 03:18 PM PDT

Just a tad untuned, isn't it? I play with her, and I play against her, and I know both sides of the equation. But, come on, really?

    Private Match Deck Restrictions

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 11:23 AM PDT

I'm a developer working on some spicy web apps for my friends and I to do drafts of this game. 2 Major questions:

    1. Is there private matches for this game and if so can we play with illegal decks? (40 card decks)
    2. Is there good documentation somewhere on how to export your collection list to a CSV or something?

Bad luck if you get placed 2501th in the sealed league?

    Posted: 30 Jun 2021 06:07 PM PDT

I shouldn't be able to buy the old Sealed League this late, plus I'd already bought it, plus where are my 7+ packs reward for buying in?

Things can target Stealthed units that shouldn't be able to

    Posted: 01 Jul 2021 08:09 AM PDT

Units under stealth have only one piece of discernable information until their stealth is broken: cost. They cost either 3 or 5 mana (unless something on the field is making them cheaper). Yet spells can target them that shouldn't be able to. For example, Suffocate can still target stealthed units with less than 3 attack, Annihilate can still target stealthed units with a single faction, etc.

Is this an intended interaction? If so, it's unintuitive.

    Looking for Hooru advice

    Posted: 30 Jun 2021 04:41 PM PDT

I've avoided Hooru largely for the last 3 years and just learned that I really enjoy it. The avoidance was from having variety and not being good at putting a deck together. I finally found love for Hooru Control, and was hoping to get some suggestions on cards I should be playing or not be playing to stand up to the current meta.

I am working on this deck right now, for a reference point but just looking for general Hooru advice for deck building. Thanks!
