Hello everyone! So I am attempting to bring Cube Draft to Eternal!

For those of you that have no idea what a cube is, imagine drafting a format in which all 4 packs are curated AND there are no rarity restrictions. What this means is that you can have a pack with half rares and legendaries. The fun thing about cube drafting is that you are able to not only do broken things but also play with fun cards that may or may not have made the cut for ranked! Of course the Eternal client does not support indecent drafting and/or 45 card deck challenges and so I've made a few modifications to make this happen. Below is how it will work.

Tomorrow 10/06/2019 I will start my usual stream a little sooner, roughly 0800 central time. www.twitch.tv/jedi\_ej I have creating the "packs" we will be drafting and during the stream anyone that would like to participate can simply tune in with eternal warcry deck builder open. I will display each pack on the stream and give viewers a chance to make their pick and building the deck on war cry. Then after the draft people can join the cube looking for group channel on my discord and battle each other with the decks they build as I observe the games on stream for others to enjoy.

To make 75 card decks viable the following steps were taken. Everyone will have to play a minimum of 30 power in there decks. They can add more but play no less (yes there is fixing in the cube) I made the packs 14 cards to add additional playables to their pools at the end of the draft (though not many so make every pick count).

It is a singleton cube so no cards will be repeated in the packs. Above are the links to the factions and cards within the cubes so you can do some homework on what cards do if you aren't familiar with them. Some archetypes in the cube are reanimator, talir combo, blitz, control, relics matters, spells matter, yeti, rankano aggro, go wide, and sacrifice. You don't have to draft an archetype you can simply draft value and have fun. One disclaimer all cards are on the table so I included campaign and promo cards as well, so be careful drafting as you will need to either craft to have these cards in your collection already to play with them =)

If this ends up being popular I will attempt to make it a more regular thing and even updating the cube from time to time. This is strictly for research and fun so feel free to participate how ever you'd like. I am planning on recording as many games as I can to post on YouTube and maybe do a mini write up on a deck that was fun to watch or really successful. Please spread the word as I know this was late notice but I was waiting on getting a date on the release of FoX. Thank you one and all and ill see you tomorrow at the "draft table"

If you have any additional questions please feel free to ask me here or on twitter or discord! And Special thanks to Celtic7Guardian for help designing the cube!

    Ranked 13 Rakano Lifesteal Aggro

    Posted: 05 Oct 2019 08:46 AM PDT

I hear people talk about Yetis, Even Paladins, Unitless, and Praxis Ramp decks, but I think Rakano Aggro is actually in a good position right now and thought I would share my deck that I took from Gold II straight to Masters without problems (~75 - 85% winrate). Description is in the decklist along with some of my thoughts on the deck and how to tweak it. Rakano Aggro is nothing new, but it can still be very good in the right set-up.

    Happy Event feelings!

    Posted: 05 Oct 2019 07:25 AM PDT

Played my 5 first entries in the Flame of Xulta event and started out so-so (3-2, 4-1, 1-4), but did a 10-0 finish with the Rakano and Elysian decks. Quite happy at the moment, really not often I go 10-0 in any format.

I do feel that the Argenport deck is the weakest of the bunch and then the Skycrag one. The Xenan deck seems really strong if you get going.

For the next five entries allowed in the event I see I get a random deck each time which is sad. I'd rather play each deck a second time.

The state of control in FoX expeditions

    Posted: 04 Oct 2019 04:49 PM PDT

No harsh rule, no end of the story (or leave a witness), no hailstorm or lightning storm. The only sweepers that are in Draft packs seem to be [[Storm Spiral]] and [[Crashing Avalanche]]. There are a couple of Shadow sweepers in the form of -X/-X (such as Eloz's Choice, Malediction) and Ageworn Vestige can spellcraft for Harsh Rule (for a total cost of 9!). Does this mean that Shadow is going to be necessary for control? Or will control shift to a more unit-based approach?

    What do you all think?
