Peasant Knights: Saturday Night Casual Tourney on OldIronNut's Stream

    Posted: 08 Feb 2020 12:43 PM PST

Every Saturday night King OIN holds a casual tournament on his Twitch stream. Tonight we will be running Peasant decks - only common and uncommon cards allowed. Everyone is welcome to join in the fray! The stream starts at 9pm CST and unless a lot of people show up early and ready to go, the tourney generally start 1-2 hours after that. We have very long streams on Saturdays; at least 8 hours but usually 10 or even 12 hours. This means people from many time zones can drop in and play or watch and see if they get inspired to throw a deck together to play with us and can stay as long (or short) as they want.

These events are designed with special rules to make people think outside the meta and just have fun; there are no prizes other than bragging rights! Multiple champions can and often are declared when someone on the top of the heap has to leave the stream before it is over. So please do stop by OldIronNuts' Twitch stream tonight and watch our knights, lords and ladies battle it out, and if this sounds fun to you, all you have to do to enter is show up with a deck full of common and uncommon cards! We'll save a seat for you in the Great Hall!

Friendly reminder that Eremot’s designs exists and yet combrei agro and Elysian “screw you I have spellshaper AND golem” midrange exist.

    Posted: 07 Feb 2020 09:13 PM PST

The top comment and most of those below it on the Eremot's Designs spoiler page are proclaiming the end of Agro. Just remember, sometimes the most popular spoiler production couldn't be further from what will happen.

    New Totems?

    Posted: 08 Feb 2020 12:22 AM PST

Was wondering if DWD has any plans for new totems. I know we recently got the new playmat (and I love it, it's awesome) but we haven't seen any new totems in a long time now. I would especially love to see some cool new Xultan related totems or some fun tribal ones.

    I'm interested in others thoughts.

Crappy Protip I just found out to find all the "NEW" cards in your collection

    Posted: 07 Feb 2020 07:03 PM PST

Search for "New." It pulls up all the cards you haven't seen yet. This may be old news for all of you folks, but I just figured it out and thought I'd pass it on.

    Carry on, folks. :)

    Let's talk about Saber-Tooth Prideleader

    Posted: 07 Feb 2020 02:59 PM PST

Ever since the announcement of the new, upcoming expansion and many of the reveals, which both seem to be centered around Relics, Prideleader has come up in discussion again and again.

Some think Prideleader in its current state is fine, while others believe that it's too hard of a counter to Relic lists without much drawback. You see, because of its big butt, Ambush, and player heal, it's actually quite strong against aggro and aggressive midrange decks as well. Which means that having it in your list gives you a favorable response to many unique archetypes you might encounter.

Personally, I'm undecided. Clearly in some cases it's quite strong, while in others it can seem kind of useless. Its stats are merely par or below par for a four drop (compare Prideleader's 3/5 to SST's 5/6 for example). But its abilities mixed with Ambush make it quite powerful in many different matchups, as I mentioned before.

Personally, if I were going to nerf it while still trying to keep it viable, I would remove the Ambush. The Ambush gives the Prideleader player an entire extra turn to react to his opponent playing a Relic, where without it he would have to wait to destroy a Relic on his turn. Still a good counter, but far less oppressive. Like I said though, I'm not sure that's even necessary because Prideleader seems to be in an okay place to me.

I'm curious about what the community thinks.
