    I recently posted a suggestion

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 02:42 AM PDT

While some of the new cards are kinda pushed (some strangers, carver, shrine to carver, display of the destruction on the talir combo decks, etc), by no way i meab they are game breaking, the real problem comes that the meta have been full of proactive decks (most decks have a linear plans with these super strongs cards) and with super diverses strategies with extremely sttong cards ( go wide + charge life steal + value strategy carver/// turn 3 talir combo/// turn 4 ,5,6 and 7 g stranger/// aggro yetis , etc) the game for reactive decks on ladder have gone miss or hit, you cant really make or know what to mullygan, and making rrally frustrating to play my favorite kind of decks. This is not a rant and its good for the variety of the game i just find removal, counter spells and most reactive cards are getting too weak while the rest of the stick to this plan cards are growing in power

Is there any site still posting regular tier lists?

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 09:54 AM PDT

I've been out of the game for a while and been looking for some tier lists to build towards. Basically everywhere I have been checking seems to have stopped publishing tier lists in mid-2019. Any help would be appreciated.

    Best way to Spend $40?

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 11:18 AM PDT

I've been away from the game since early last year, so I've missed new sets and campaigns.

I won a $100 visa gift card in a raffle, and $60 of that is going to the new Animal Crossing, leaving $40 to spend on getting up-to-date in Eternal (first time I've ever spent money on the game).

I realize it's not a lot, but how would you spend it to maximize value?

    Campaign info for new/returning players.

    Posted: 14 Mar 2020 03:39 PM PDT

Lately I've seen a bunch of new or returning players asking about whether various campaigns are worth it or not. In general the answer is yes, but I figured I'd go through each campaign and list the good cards that each one has, just to make things a bit easier.

    Jekk's Bounty

Meta: Quarry. This card is still excellent selection, though there are a few cards that can fill the same role and are almost as good, like Cull the Deck.

Former meta or fringe playable: Copperhall Bailiff. Still a good anti-aggro card, though there are definitely better 3drops available.

Market cards: Passage of Eons, Stray Into Shadow. The former is mass relic removal + silence, the latter is a decent boardwipe, though it's hard to justify now with Malediction and Eremot's Designs existing.

Niche/Jank: Bait, Cliffside Porter, Combrei Emissary, Aviasaur Patriarch, Nictotraxian.

Overall: this should be your last priority unless you REALLY want to play Quarry, or are a jank addict.

    The Tale of Horus Traver

Meta: nothing, really. I guess Power Stone still sees play in some meta decks.

Former meta or fringe playable: Tavrod Auric Broker, Crimson Firemaw, Cinder Yeti, Devoted Theurge, Copperhall Paladin, Yetipult, Auric Interrogator. Tavrod is still a very powerful card, and both Copperhall Paladin and Auric Interrogator play very well with him. The Paladin can also go in Even Paladin decks. Crimson Firemaw is still very strong, though there are some better dragons in the 4 slot nowadays. Devoted Theurge is fine as an anti-aggro option. Yetipult doesn't see much play anymore but is still powerful. Cinder Yeti has mostly been surpassed strength-wise, but is still a fine choice in aggro/yeti decks.

Market cards: Vision of Austerity. Still an excellent relic hate card for Hooru decks.

Niche/Jank: Kindle, South Wind Herald, Triumphant Stranger, Horus Traver

Overall: this campaign has some strong cards, but most of them have kinda been surpassed in power level. They can make good replacements if you are missing a certain legendary, but are generally not the best option anymore. I'd put this campaign on pretty low priority.

    Dead Reckoning

Meta: Icaria Valkyrie Captain, Hailstorm, Ripknife Assassin, Pokpok Rockpacker, Equivocate, Anointer of the Faithful. Baby Icaria is mostly used for her ramp ability, but also plays very well in Valkyrie decks. Hailstorm is still one of the best anti-aggro tools out there. Ripknife is one of the best 2 drops in the game, Pokpok is a very important part of Yeti decks, Equivocate is excellent cheap removal, and Annointer is a key piece of paladin decks, particularly Even ones.

Former Meta or fringe playable: Oni Dragonsmith, Venom Rider, Tripwire Grenadin, Inquisitors Blade, Hooru Pacifier, Lethrai Skystrider. Most of these are tribal cards and play well on their various tribes. Pacifier shuts down weapons and is hard to deal with efficiently, while the Blade is just an excellent weapon that grants evasion. Venom Rider is a little slow and weird, but can still function as removal.

Market Cards: In Cold Blood, Bore. Blood kills anything and wrecks justice units, and Bore is still one of the best relic removal options around.

Niche/Jank: Memento Mori, Wardweilder, Daraka Queensguard, Sandglass Juggernaut, Sower of Dissent, Mitotic Wisp.

Overall: This is one of the better campaigns, with a lot of strong playables as well as some fun jank options. Definitely high priority.

    Into Shadow

Meta: Vara Vengeance Seeker, Azindel Revealed, Maul. Baby Vara is still one of the best units around, even after being nerfed. Completely hoses aegis strategies. Azindel is a key piece of reanimator decks. Maul has it's own deck named after it, and is excellent at punishing durdly decks.

Former meta or fringe playable: Signal Flare, Cauldron Cookbook, Telut Queen's Hand, Poaching Drake, Shakedown. Telut is still a devastating top end unit. Cookbook is a good draw engine in a color that typically doesn't have much draw. Shakedown and Signal flare are decent hand destruction and removal, respectively. Drake is decent in dragon decks, and was quite good against Endra when she was a thing.

Market cards: Sea of Teeth, Last Chance. Sea of Teeth is mass relic removal and a bunch of killer dorks, which is interesting, but probably too expensive most of the time. Last chance is void recursion for zero power. Pretty darn good.

Niche/Jank: Waystone Titan, Messenger Hawk, Enemy of my Enemy, Word of Sol.

Overall: This one doesn't have as many meta cards as Dead Reckoning, but the ones it does have are VERY powerful. This campaign should be high on the list.

    Homecoming

Meta: Stormhalt Knife, Honor of Claws. Knife is excellent in control decks, and Honor is one of the best draw spells in the game.

Former meta or fringe playable: Svetya Merciful Orene, Ponysnatcher, Desecrate, Korovyat Palace, Vargo Redclaw. Svetya is slow, but devastating top end if you have the time for her. Pony snatcher is an evasive 2drop that hates on markets. Desecrate hasn't seen as much play since being nerfed, butt is still a very good catch all removal. Palace is still an extremely powerful site, though now it sees more play in the market than the main. Vargo is difficult to deal with and plays well with board wipes.

Market cards: Casualties of the Cause, Clock of Stolen Hours. Casualties hasn't seen much play, but is still a way to deal with sites. Clock is there if you want a second version of Obelisk.

Niche/Jank: Demand Death, Gunrunner, Glasshopper, Call For Aid, Apex Predator, Silverwing Courier, Bear-Guard Bayonet, Star Reader's Blade, Profane Censor, Diogo Malaga Elonze, Severin the Mad Mage. NOTE: the pledge cards used to be playable, but due to various nerfs have been sadly relegated to jank status.

Overall: this one doesn't have a ton of meta cards, but the former meta/fringe playable section has many that are still quite powerful and likely to see meta play in the future. I'd say this is the high end of middle priority.

    Trials of Grodov

Meta: Yeti Pioneer, Saber-Tooth Prideleader, Sodi Wingbreaker. Yeti Pioneer is an excellent part of yeti decks and can fit in regular aggro decks as well, Prideleader is basically the only main-deckable relic hate, and is also very good against aggro, and Sodi is a nice card advantage engine that can sometimes nuke a site or flier.

Former Meta or fringe playable: Hunters Shot, Yisha the Equalizer. Shot is okaaaay removal, and Yisha is a nice body with an effect that can snowball pretty well.

Market cards: Gnash Desert Prince, Uldra Veilripper. Gnash is just game over for flyer decks, and Uldra can be a ton of value in the right deck, especially reanimator.

Niche/Jank: Aika Whirling Death, Preyfinder, Distilled Venom.

Overall: a couple good playables and 2 great market options. This one is middling priority.

    Promises By Firelight

Meta: Cinder Clutch, Eremot's Designs, Spitflame Draconus, Dakus Ancient Flame, Archgriffyn Patriarch. The two dragons play very well in their respective color's dragon decks, and Cinder Clutch is part of a brutal combo in the Skycrag Dragon deck. Eremots Designs is an aggro hoser, played both market and main depending on the deck. The Griffyn is a key part of the curse deck.

Former meta or fringe playable: Endra Champion of Shavka, Ixtol Champion of Grodov, Aili Champion of Kodosh, Kuro Champion of Makaar, Harga Armory Warden, Sunset Stone, Tome of Horrors, Shattered Hopes. Endra is much worse after the nerf but still playable. The other champions I mentioned are playable in the right deck but haven't really taken off yet. Harga has a fringe Minotaur deck that's been making the rounds. Sunset Stone is key in any Elf deck, Tome is the keystone of the only playable mill deck, and shattered hopes sees play in the Lastlight kill everything deck.

Market cards: nothing really, maybe Linrei's protection?

    Niche/Jank: Solwatcher Tota, Nightmare Prism

Overall: This one has a lot of fun stuff, but not a ton that is super necessary unless you want to play one of the dragon decks. Middling priority unless you want to play with dragons.

So that's that. Obviously these are all my opinions and not anything definitive, but it should give you a decent idea of which campaigns are good for what.

EDIT: u/sunsfury pointed out something I forgot, which is that The Tale of Horus Traver is now legal in Expedition. A lot of those cards are going to be very impactful in that format I would think. Probably everything in the fringe playable section is worth a shot, and I'd particularly expect Tavrod, Crimson Firemaw, and Auric Interrogator to make waves. Yetipult might be quite good against the various Cultist and Carver sacrifice decks, too.

Relatively new player looking for some good decklists

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 09:23 AM PDT

As the title says. Looking for some good decklists for Expedition. I only started last month. So far I've had some success using a Fire/Justice Oni deck I put together. I quite enjoy how they play so similar decks would be good. I also love Dragons in all media, so some good Dragon decklists would be much appreciated.

I feel like I'm not bad at the game, but I'm not comfortable with it enough to make good decks yet so appreciate the help. Thanks

    Bug - I don't choose you!

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 02:12 AM PDT

I've launched the game this morning and it seems that any time I play a card that involves a choice of some description (such as looking for a sigil in the deck or picking a character to be untargetable) the game doesn't actually offer you the choice, in-fact it does nothing and you just have to sit there and wait for your turn to time out before the choice is picked for you randomly.

This issue only seems to have started today, has anyone else had this problem?

    Forge

    Posted: 14 Mar 2020 06:13 PM PDT

I didn't know that it was possible for the Forge AI to concede. It was it's turn and it had 5 health and was going to lose on my turn. It then conceded.

    Is this normal?

    Is the game dying?

    Posted: 15 Mar 2020 01:24 AM PDT

I played the game around launch, then dropped it for quite some time. Now that I have come back, it seems that the game is dying, there's very little growth, twitch numbers are almost negligible and this sub numbers ( I checked on some tracking websites) have been stagnant for months.

    Is it dying? what happened?

PS: I mean this post mostly as a discussion, and not an attempt to belittle the game or it's playerbase.
