| Posted: 28 Mar 2020 10:49 AM PDT So I just returned to the game after a long break ( like 2 expansions ) and was playing with one of my older weapon themed deck that uses this card then something went wrong. When I play this card, I get to play the unit just fine but no weapon gets played on it and the discard part doesn't happen until the unit dies, then it discards all the cards. However, sometimes among those cards there actually are weapons. And like I swear this was working just a few days ago too so not sure what happened in this short amount of time. If I play any other mobile game, I dont have that problem. I managed to give a reality breaker both deadly and overwhelm from 2 Tranquil Scholars. When I played it, it dealt 15 damage to face and cleared their board, allowing another 15ish from attacks to go through for a pretty ridiculous OTK. Has anyone else here played this deck yet? | Saturday Night Birthday Stream and Casual Tourney: The Party Party! Posted: 27 Mar 2020 09:31 PM PDT Every Saturday night King OIN holds a casual tournament on his Twitch stream. Tomorrow night is his birthday and we will be running decks with 24+ Clerics, Mages, Rogues, Shamans and Warriors with a minimum of four units of four of these unit types (going for an RPG party theme)! The stream starts at 9pm CST and unless a lot of people show up early and ready to go, the tourney generally start 1-2 hours after that. We have very long streams on Saturdays; at least 8 hours but usually 10 or even 12 hours. This means people from many time zones can drop in and play or watch and see if they get inspired to throw a deck together to play with us as long (or briefly) as they wish. These events are designed with special rules to make people think outside the meta and just have fun; there are no prizes other than bragging rights! Multiple champions can and often are declared when someone on the top of the heap has to leave the stream before it is over. So please do stop by OldIronNuts' Twitch stream tomorrow to wish our king a happy birthday and watch our knights, lords and ladies battle it out, and if this sounds fun to you, all you have to do to enter is show up with a Throne deck that conforms to the above rules! | Had a miserable time tonight and need to vent / seek help Posted: 27 Mar 2020 02:39 PM PDT I splurged for the new set's premium pack thingy since I don't have anything else to spend money on at this most Interesting of Times. It came with three draft tickets, and since I had Master in both constructed formats I figured I'd give draft a try and go for the Triple Crown. I finished 0/3, 2/3, 2/3. Now, my first deck was an awful experiment with flying tokens, sacrifice outlets etc and the pieces never came together. 100% my bad for trying it. Second deck was a four-faction masterpiece with tons of fixing/draw/removal, splashing time for Wren the Traditionalist and Sorcerer's Wand. Third was a gift of a Menace ("Grixis") deck that was stompy midgame, a bunch of dragons and removal for small creatures. The games I lost came in two flavours: 1) Mull one power hand into two power hand with stuff I could play, keep, miss 3rd power drop and fall behind. Eventually draw power but too late. Decks had 17/18/17 power with at least one Seek Power or Favor in each. 2) Opponent builds a monster from weapons / buff spells / Stranger "warcries" and I can't remove it because I don't draw removal, or I do draw removal (Permafrost) but it doesn't work because they're randomly playing the crappy 1-drop "your creatures have endurance" card/Siege Provisions, or I multi-block and they have an answer every single time even when in top-deck mode. There was also a game right at the end where my opponent drew a relic weapon that had +2/+2 for seemingly no reason. They didn't play any Warcry units the whole game, they didn't have any random armoury units (they were JTS), they hadn't buffed it while it was in their hand (it was the weapon that has Fate: Gain 1 Armour so I knew they had drawn it) the weapon just had +2/+2 for no apparently reason and Eternal doesn't let me hover over the card to see the source of the buff a la Hearthstone. This was a big feel bad as it meant my biggest guy just died for unknown reasons and I had no chance of winning after that. I decided to look up "Calebovitsch's Echoes of Eternity Draft Card Ratings of Awesomeness" (great name btw, https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11gk3NQeTNjC_ctKXVpaDlmkTZvNuGvvRZy2wmF31t0k/edit#gid=0 ) to see if there was anything I was wildly misevaluating and everything seemed good, if anything he has 10s where I would have 8s for some but there were no cards I thought were good but were absolute toilets. So.... What happened? Is this just variance? Am I being results orientated? Are small damage-based removal spells just bad? Should I be all in on making one stupidly large creature myself? What should I be doing to get back into the game? Drafts used to be great but with all the new cards I feel I would be lost.....what's the best way to get back in the game? [link] [comments] | ||
