    8/6 Update

Brrrrr. Grab the Skycrag Glacier Playmat Bundle and beat the summer heat! In the Store now!

The Throne Summer Challenge starts this Friday, August 7th at 10:00 MDT (16:00 UTC). This is your chance to earn some additional QCP ahead of the 2020 Summer Championships!

We have also made the following fixes and improvements:

    • Fixed an issue where playing Just Desserts on an enemy unit while Makto, Valorous Savior is in play could crash the game.

    • Fixed an issue where Oskar, Chief Tinker's return from the void effect would not be correctly suppressed by Embargo Officer.

    • Piercing Shots created by Siege Train should no longer incorrectly remain on screen if their damage is prevented.

    • Fixed an issue where a kill spell played on an attacking unit could fail to resolve if the unit blocking the attacker was killed in response.

    • In some cases, players at 1 health and with Makto, Valorous Savior in play would not have their Aegis correctly removed by damage spells. This has been resolved.

    • Corrupt should now be able to correctly target Bring to Justice.

    • Fixed an issue where the unit that Learned Imitator transformed into would sometimes incorrectly change stats when it changed zones.

    • Fixed an issue where cards drawn by a temporary draw effects (ex: Kindling Carver) and then transmuted into units were incorrectly removed from play at the end of the turn.

    • Maeve, Walker of Aeons should now correctly draw a card when multiple units are played simultaneously.

    • Fixed an issue where Spellcrafting a damage spell with Authoritarian Creation in play could crash the game.

If you encounter any of these issues after restarting Eternal, or have any questions, please let us know at support@direwolfdigital.com or report it directly in-game under Options > Feedback.

Dear DWD, Please consider re-adding the Xenan Obselisk card-back to the community store

    Posted: 06 Aug 2020 12:10 PM PDT

I have been saving my community points for many, many months with the hope it would come back in the store. I have now taken to reddit to share my plea.

Alas, I started my Eternal journey after this marvelous card back was rotated out so I missed my chance to have this prize. The Xenan Obselisk totem is my absolute favorite totem to play with and having this fantastic card back would overwhelm me with pride and joy.

So I ask again-- pretty please DWD?? I love you :D

    Statistics on League win rates

    Posted: 06 Aug 2020 09:05 AM PDT

I can't be the only person who's built a deck in league and then played 10 games and wondered: How close is this win rate to the "true" win rate of this deck?

So I did some research, and this is my very rough answer: Not close at all. Let's get into more details.

First off, I'm assuming that a given deck with a given pilot in a given meta has a "true" win rate that the deck would reach if you played a VERY large number of games.

Using info in this Wikipedia article and using the frequentist approach, let's examine the case for 10 games, trying to find out our maximum error with a 95.45% confidence level (Z=2). I both used the 50% win rate in the Wikipedia article and a deck with a 70% win rate, and got very similar numbers. Rounding a few percent either way, your results for 10 games can range 30% off the true win rate. So if your deck has a true rate of 60%, you should not be surprised at all by an 8-2 record OR a 4-6 record. Over 20 games, you lower the error down to about 20%. To get our maximum error down to 5%, we're looking at around 300 - 400 games depending on the exact "true" win rate.

This is reassuring to me, as some weeks I'll play a deck and struggle to get 6-4, and then nearly the same deck will go 8-2 the next week. It's just variance.

When playing against AI in the Gauntlet whenever I play a card that is 5 or under always, and i mean freaking always, as long as the AI has cards in his hand he always has something to put down with just enough strength to kill whatever unit I had just played prior regardless of health.
