    Meta Snapshot before the Invitationals

    Meta Snapshot before the Invitationals

Breakdown of the Meta since the last Meta snapshot. Shaded regions in the main graph indicate 5% of the meta, any particular deck archetype encompassing more than 5% of the meta is labeled, factions are shown if they make up more than 2.5% of the meta. Decks making up more than 5% of the metagame were plotted on the Reactivity and Otherzoniness metrics

Welcome to another meta snapshot, this time just before the Invitationals start. 205 Expedition and 128 Throne games were submitted here and again I hope to get a lot of submissions going forward. This time the contributor list is rather short:

    LowKeyTrickster
    Brantar
    AlcideBava

In Throne the top deck has again remained unchanged with Stonescar aggro dominating and the same holds for the second spot, which remains Xenan reanimator. Hooru Hatebears is next, which had dropped in the last report, but it's mixed with Unitless to make for an overall good showing of Hooru decks. I suspect that Awakenings Kira has made it to quite a few of the Hatebear decks and Jarral makes Unitless less unitless than it used to be. Next is Argenport mid, which hasn't been in the mix the last time around, followed by Feln mid. Rats has dropped quite a bit, as have aggressive Skycrag builds, which share a bar, but not a label with some Spellcrag. Ixtun spells is a control deck that wins with Jarrall along the usual suspects. And finally Mono Fire aggro made it over the 5% bar.

In Expedition mono colored decks rule. At the top of the pile is Mono Primal, which still get to play Helios, but pair it with Dazzle and Jarral along the likes of Torgov and Linreis Stranger. This is followed by Mono Fire and two flavors of Mono Shadow, the traditional midrange and a more aggressive Elves deck built around Acantha. Skycrag dropped from being the top decks to 4th place followed by mono time midrange. Completing the list of decks with more than 5% share in the meta is Rakano surge, which in it's current form is basically the better version of Mono Justice, playing Ijin and Ironthorn to gain Primal Influence quickly.

Problem with byes in the event?

    Posted: 19 Sep 2020 09:49 AM PDT

I was very excited to start the event with 75 QCP (and thus 3 byes) for the first time. When the event started, I didn't see them mentioned anywhere, so I figured I would just have to play 12 matches. But now I see someone post on discord they started the event with 3 wins, despite only having 65 QCP.

    What's going on u/Direwolfdigital?

EDIT: I can't start new matches. I guess they're on it

EDIT 2: tournament restarted. Result from previous matches were cancelled, I start with 3 wins
