Is the Power creep real, or are we missing something here? Should SSK need a buff? Or should MG need a nerf?

Oh I have a melancholy of the old days when people used SSK as their win con in control. Now it's dead, I will miss you SSK.

Cards that are most fun the play with and most unfun to play against them.

    Posted: 11 Oct 2020 04:53 AM PDT

Hello. I would like to read your own card that you like and don't like. So i made this post to see cards that are most fun the play with and most unfun to play against in your opinion.

My chart would be something like this.

Cards that are most fun to play with

    1. Touch of Force
    2. Severin of the Dark
    3. Makto, Valorious Savior

Cards that are most unfun to play against them

    1. Shrine to Karvet
    2. Turn to seed
    3. Jekk, Mercenary Hunter

    Technically Top 100 Tradition (Throne)

    Decklist HERE

After finally getting through the Diamond 1 slog, I got placed at rank 95, so here's the deck I used to do most of my Diamond climbing:

12-sweeper control with a relic theme! Feels like it has generally decent matchups, as long as you have a ramp card and an answer or two in your opening hand, things should go smoothly. Deck's heavy on Justice to make use of Enter the Monastery, and as a result there's no good access to face aegis currently, so be careful against hand-hate. Abyssal Scrying can do some absolutely absurd things in this deck: sweeper into relic weapon into Abyssal Scrying can be a clean win in many matchups.

Games end generally in two ways: sticking a massive greatsword and proceeding to mash the opponent's face in whilst keeping the board clear with sweepers; or dropping a Pit of Lenekta and pummeling them with worms.

The market's currently filled with a broad variety of answers, and the fact that Great Valley Smuggler is a 4/4 with any relics out makes them a good blocker as well. Lumen Reclaimer is a must-have for when an opponent's playing mill against you, Turn to Seed is great to eat irritating units like Jekk, Helio, etc. Edict of Linrei hits both Yetis and Stonescar aggro, both of which you want as many removal spells as possible against. Omen of Austerity is market hate that also counts as a relic once played, but could easily be swapped out for Disjunction or even a counterspell (because of prideleader in maindeck)

PS: If it's the only thing you can do with your mana, don't be afraid to cast Abyssal Scrying for only 2 cards - waiting to draw a bigger relic is often a mistake, because you need to draw into it, then play said expensive relic, and then the turn after that finally play Scrying.

OldIronNuts Saturday Casual Tourney: Short, Cute and Inorganic!

    Posted: 10 Oct 2020 04:01 PM PDT

Every Saturday night King OIN holds a casual tournament on his Twitch stream. Tonight we will be running decks that contain at least 21 cards with the words "Grenadin" or "Totemite" in the text. These tournaments are held for fun and to encourage originality and creativity so please don't bring a net/meta deck if you plan to participate.

The stream starts at 9pm CDT and unless a lot of people show up early and ready to go, the tourney generally starts 1-2 hours after that. We have very long streams on Saturdays; at least 8 hours but usually 10 or even 12 hours. This means people from many time zones can drop in and play or watch and see if they get inspired to throw a deck together to play with us as long (or briefly) as they wish.

These events are designed with special rules to make people think outside the meta and just have fun; there are no prizes other than bragging rights! Multiple champions can and often are declared when someone on the top of the heap has to leave the stream before it is over. So please do stop by OldIronNuts' Twitch stream tonight to watch our knights, lords and ladies battle it out, and if this sounds fun to you, all you have to do to enter is show up with a Throne deck that conforms to the above rules! We'll save a seat for you in the Great Hall!
