Evacuation Plan Theorycrafting & Possible Decklists Posted: 18 Mar 2021 05:04 AM PDT So the newest spoiler came out for Stormbreak today - Evacuation Plan - and it's a really interesting one in my opinion. It's a bounce spell, which raises a lot of flags. It costs 4, which is a lot for a bounce spell, so it needs to do something fancy. And I think it delivers on that promise. Evacuation Plan lets you bounce back to hand any amount of creatures, AND creates a sentinel with all their stats and battle skills. That last part is very important - a lump of stats is much, much more interesting if it's given battle skills. There is the potential to use it as a way to dodge sweepers - but in my opinion, that's only a great play if you can reliably give the resulting sentinel Aegis for it to dodge the sweeper itself. In sweeper dodging situations, you really just want to play Stand Together instead, because you don't lose the tempo of having to play your units all over again. Where I think Evacuation plan will shine is in value-oriented decks that abuse summon effects to gain their advantage. Those of us who have been around will remember an old bogeyman of Eternal - Evenhanded Golem. Evenhanded golem gained voidbound because people were abusing cheap reanimation spells to get tons of card advantage, but there's nothing stopping you from bouncing it! I've put together 2 different lists that aim to abuse both halves of Evacuation Plan. This variant lets you replay Evenhanded Golem, Diana and Temple Scribe for card advantage, as well as Sharp Tactician and potentially Desert Marshall in order to keep enemy units quite and behaving. Sword of Unity is in to protect your life total, as well as giving Aegis, Lifesteal and Overwhelm to your sentinel in order to create a very large sentinel that can't be easily interacted with. So it turns out that, to no-one's surprise, Kerendon also has some pretty good even cards. This variant packs a lot more interaction than the combrei variant, and less ways to boost up the sentinel than in the Combrei list (though there is potential to slap some swords of unity in the Kerendon list). The most notable inclusions are Vara, Vengeance Seeker, who is impressive whenever your life total is being threatened, forces bad trades for your opponent, and can really boost up a sentinel whilst also stacking up herself if you play her multiple times. This is also a deck that makes good use of Know Thy Enemy, though it is a lot easier to hit your own units than other Kerendon lists so you'll have to be careful. Both of these lists look like they have some degree of potential - with a bit of tuning once it's actually possible to build the deck. If you're looking for a more combo-oriented build: Cykalis, the Burning Sand gives charge and overwhelm to the sentinel (along with a nice amount of attack, too). [link] [comments]
Any suggestions for a good Gauntlet grinding deck? Posted: 18 Mar 2021 09:28 AM PDT I would prioritize consistency over speed, but a mix of both would be nice. Im using a shadow deck that isnt really consistent anymore. Ive been out for quite a few months :D [link] [comments]
Posted: 17 Mar 2021 10:40 PM PDT Was the interaction between Kesava and life drinker while having a Dizo's racket changed at some point? I remember it used to keep damaging you and healing you while drawing card and you end up with 999 life and armor with empty deck. ( then I kill them with Xenan fanatic lol) Now when I try this combo it stops at the second proc... Is this intended or a bug? I came back from a long break would be a shame to lose one of my favorite deck like this... [link] [comments]
