Welcome to Ep.62.of the Farming Eternal Podcast. Where is episode 61 you ask? It's coming next week! Patrick thought the new set "Argent Depths" first impressions were more important than Hatsonlamps talking about Waystone Gate for 2 hours in our sunset show. For those who want that discussion, it's coming. In this episode Patrick and Hatsonlamps talk about all the new and returning mechanics as well as some sub-themes of the new set.

If this is your first-time hearing about the podcast, you can send your 7-win deck lists by email to farmingeternal@gmail.com or post them in the discord. (link to join the discord is below). Thank you to all the players for submitting your decks this past week.

A Question on Breakdown of Expedition

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 11:35 AM PDT

Hello everyone, so essentially in short my question: How dramatic does each expedition change specifically in terms of the hand picked cards through older sets (draft packs)?

I love how Magic standard works: Usually new set rotates in and oldest set rotates out. It looks like expedition is similar (Per Eternal Warcry) but they DWD also hand picks their cards through older sets. My question though is how much is changing from each "Draft Pack". Is this typically a huge change in the selection? I ask cause I'm seeing some expeditions last a couple months and some like 10-20 days and just not sure if I'm going to get deck building whiplash when I craft a deck over a couple of weeks and now all of a sudden my key pieces are gone and deck is invalid. I mainly play throne and I'm kind of tired of the "modern" feel.

    [AD] Spoiler with Puzzle

    Posted: 19 Jun 2020 06:36 PM PDT

Try the puzzle, or just look at the spoiler here.

You know that, with your hand, the cards you've just played, and the top card of your deck, you have lethal this turn. Why?

You've just played a Hooru Crest and three Stonepowder Alchemists(without Destiny) - the top card of your deck, which you didn't put on the bottom because you know it enables lethal, is Swindle.

Afterwards, your hand, which you will play all of, is Lightning Storm, a Shadow Sigil, and four of the new card - though only three of them will be on the board.

Your influence is JPPPS and your remaining power is 17, which you will use all of. The enemy player's life is 6.

I don't know what the odds of this are, but it evened out going second 6 times straight.

OldIronNuts Casual Saturday Night Tourney: Animals R Magic!

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 02:35 PM PDT

Every Saturday night King OIN holds a casual tournament on his Twitch stream. Tonight we will be running decks that honor a simple truth which every child knows and that many adults can bear reminding of: Animals Are Magic! In the spirit of this simplicity only animal Unit cards and Spell cards are allowable in tourney decks. Since we are adults and adults need boundaries and detailed rules here is the long version. Animals are defined as Units with these types on the bottom of the card : Armadillo, Bat, Bear, Beast, Bird, Camel, Cat, Dog, Jackal, Pig, Serpent, Sloth, Wolf. No sites or attachments of any kind (relics, weapons or curses) are allowed. All power cards can be used as well (unless they can transform into or create forbidden card types). In the interest of fairness no cards from the draft preview of the upcoming set are allowed either!

The stream starts at 9pm CDT and unless a lot of people show up early and ready to go, the tourney generally starts 1-2 hours after that. We have very long streams on Saturdays; at least 8 hours but usually 10 or even 12 hours. This means people from many time zones can drop in and play or watch and see if they get inspired to throw a deck together to play with us as long (or briefly) as they wish.

These events are designed with special rules to make people think outside the meta and just have fun; there are no prizes other than bragging rights! Multiple champions can and often are declared when someone on the top of the heap has to leave the stream before it is over. So please do stop by OldIronNuts' Twitch stream tonight to watch our knights, lords and ladies battle it out, and if this sounds fun to you, all you have to do to enter is show up with a Throne deck that conforms to the above rules! We'll save a seat for you in the Great Hall!

    3 questions about PC version

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 10:46 AM PDT

    1) What do I do with my 115k influence and where did I get all this?

    2) How do I make a purchase on the DWD store WITHOUT using PayPal? I just want to use a credit card.

    3) How do I stream on Twitch so I can get 2 viewers who complain I have no cam? I activated it in the settings and I'm online on Twitch but there's no stream.

Got to say this preview the event has to be the best so far.

    Posted: 20 Jun 2020 12:18 AM PDT

I really enjoy that if were good enough we can get a legendary do each tribe. I might get at least two my self.

The other rewards are just as good. Almost reach 10 wins for that shiny legendary and I had 32 packs but now it 142 (I had a lot of gold save up to play).

Hope to see more like it.

Edit: but I do agree it not the best for newer players.

You have to bring your own deck, so new players should avoid this event, right?

reverted changes to ranked points progression?

    Posted: 19 Jun 2020 08:38 PM PDT

Has anyone continued to monitor points progression in Ranked following the most recent updates? n isn't high so I'm 100% willing to chalk it up to a bad run of results but my points progression and (perhaps more concerningly) matchmaking have felt suspiciously like last season's update and I just want to confirm that this isn't something systemic. Any data?
