    Lost Account

    Posted: 14 May 2021 08:10 AM PDT

Alright, last time I played was last November, and now I want to log back in. I already have my account logged in on steam on my laptop, but I also want to log into my phone as well. However, I've forgotten the email this account is attached to. Is there a way for me recover it or am I screwed?

    [Revelations] Supply Lines

    Posted: 13 May 2021 02:21 PM PDT

If you're only interested in the spoiler card, scroll to the bottom.

Cycles. What would we do without them? They come in all shapes and sizes, from the strictest cycles where all cards share the same card type, cost, and influence, to looser cycles where only the influence requirements are the same, to "vertical cycles" where a card idea evolves as it goes up in rarity. Most insidious of all are the cycles that span multiple sets, cycles that have not yet been completed. And our spoiler card today is a new entry in one of these multiset cycles, a cycle with so few cards that before today, you wouldn't call it a cycle it all.

Enter Mysterious Waystone, an uncommon cursed relic from Echoes of Eternity (Set 8). Not exactly a popular card, but pair it with the much more popular Restrained Action and a pattern begins to emerge. Aha, now we begin to see what's going on. A cycle of cursed relics!

Well yes, but actually no. The next entry in this cycle would come in the very next campaign, Whispers of the Throne, but it wouldn't be a curse. Praxis Trove is the counterpart to Restrained Action, with Action supplying the units and Trove, the spells. A cycle of Relics that play cards from your deck... but Mysterious Waystone doesn't fit?

A confusion that is compounded when the next entry of the cycle came out six months later in Shadows of the Spire... and was another Fire card? Reactor Forge doesn't play units at all... but it does share a line of text with the other three cards mentioned: "Increase this ability by 1", the ability line made famous by the best/worst name cycle in Eternal, the Diesel Cycle from The Dusk Road (Set Three).

Our preview card today falls more in line with the Trove/Action side of the cycle, activating when you play units and giving you a bonus when you do. I could tease the card more, or wax poetic about how Maelstrom Bell is actually the first card in this super-cycle, but I think I wasted enough of your time with the Diesel reference. Hopefully this preamble was at least as entertaining as it was informative. Click below for the spoiler!
