Argent Depths Community Draft Set Review Posted: 06 Jul 2020 02:29 PM PDT Hello fellow Eternal players! With a new set release it's time to learn about a new draft format. To help with evaluating the new cards I've created another survey that we can use to collectively rate each card in Argent Depths. You can find the survey link and more details at Eternal Warcry: https://eternalwarcry.com/articles/d/oaTjcc0uEhM/argent-depths-community-draft-set-review I will once again be sharing the results spreadsheet once I've got some responses to work with. Thank you in advance for your help and sharing your knowledge and experience about this new set! [link] [comments]
Favorite Cycle From Argent Depths Posted: 05 Jul 2020 09:56 PM PDT Hey y'all, it's been a minute. It seems to be the consensus that this latest set is a real banger. It's got jank, it has some gnarly combos, and it has a few competitive monsters. I want to take a moment to talk about my favorite cycle in the mix: The From Xs. First off, these sweet one drop fasts open up some really interesting design space. The use of transmute isn't essential for them, but turns each into an interesting build around challenge. What's more interesting, each "Traveler" the cards become focuses on fringe strategies for their shard. Take From Within for instance. Brynn is a badass. The last time Ixtun loved Combat tricks and buffs nearly as much was when Renown was introduced. Back then, Fast Removal was more heavily invested in since it was more flexible. Combine Unseen survivability with Rilgon and other Hooru spell tricks, and From Within enables some awesome bursty surprises, transformed or not. Kira sends her love. From Below does something similar. Instead of the recursive heavy or board-control style decks, the Plasma Primordial creates a sort of double guard. The killers it creates could work nicely in an Elysian Killers shell, and/or its spell dumping combined with counters could create a no-win situation for removal strategies. Lately I've been experimenting with it in a screamers shell with plenty of opening board clears/infiltrate and finding more success using it to defend my Recurring Nightmares, than with anything else. I tried From Anguish in a Gunslingers shell, but found Burning Cruelty to be a bit more costly than the typical Stonescar strategy allowed. This made me want to look into a more Winchest Controlly approach. Trouble is, Burning Cruelty demands minions. With that in mind, I'm wondering if removal sticks have a solid enabler here, or if I should focus on protective measures or a sacrifice strategy. .. It's an interesting card and I love the story the art tells. From Elements doesn't make nearly as much sense for me as those first three, so I'm curious to see what y'all have to say on it specifically. It seems to want to rely on token spells, and filling the void, but the usual relic based token strategy Time relies on doesn't quite jibe with the spell buff. It's tempting to go into Shadow for void filling, Torrent of Spiders silliness, but that doesn't quite make sense either. Maybe a Sentinels Explorers shell? I could see that being useful with Ask For Directions, but that seems subpar too. From Beyond is even weirder. Maeve capitalizes on cheap units, and cheap weapons (which eliminates many relic weapons). I want to experiment with Ornamental Dagger recursion here, but my usual Fire based enabling cards are nonstarters. Jaril, Vodakhan's Staff, Axe Sharpener, and other Unit Weapon synergies seem useful here, but Shadow's recursion is unit focused, and their buffs are mostly relic weapon focused. This suggests deck filtering (Scheme, Stack the Deck, etc) and removal (the usual suspects) are Shadow's role in the From build? This will be my next experiment. Thoughts on this cycle? Got a different cycle you're loving? Talk to me goose. [link] [comments]
Anyone got any Peasant decklists? Oh, and Pauper/Peasant Tournaments? Posted: 06 Jul 2020 12:51 PM PDT It's hard to find Peasant lists (Commons + Uncommons) on Eternal Warcry, also, does anyone know when any Pauper tourneys are run? [link] [comments]
There are still spots open for the Salty Games Tournament. Posted: 05 Jul 2020 01:57 PM PDT Just wanted to to do a reminder that i'm trying to put a tournament together with a cash prize of 25$. More Detail here. Right now there are only 4 people who sign up and i want to get at least 16 in total, but if not enough people are willing to join i'll go with 8. I thought a lot of people would love to give a shot at winning 25$ in eternal using a small card pool to use, but i guest i might be wrong. [link] [comments]

Aniyah, Master Sleuth Aegis Bug Posted: 05 Jul 2020 05:28 PM PDT So, there is a bug with Aniyah, Master Sleuth. I had Aniyah in play. Both me and Aniyah had aegis. Opponent played Vara, removing the aegis from me and Aniyah. Once Vara was dead, the aegis on my character came back. Me and my opponent thought it was a visual bug, but when he attacked with Eremot, Mindsplitter, Eremot's ability was blocked by the aegis. I conceded the game. I don't abuse bugs and i would have lost certainly if that wasn't happening. Please look into this. [link] [comments] |
