Making the Promo Work - Genetor Dovid I

    Posted: 22 Jan 2021 12:22 PM PST

Genetor Dovid I is a hyper-focused promo card. He wants Soldier units and spells with Amplify. Usually, cards that are this narrowly designed turn out to be pretty meh, but that hasn't been my experience with this one. There's a lot to be happy about here. He tutors up Amplify spells and Soldiers from the top four cards of your deck, and to boot, he's got a solid body and a ridiculously low cost. His downside isn't even that much of a problem, because there are ways to deal with stunned units that the soldiers archetype really likes.

This deck is a value town beatdown, concentrating on the biggest bang for the buck that expedition soldiers can muster. We've got Dovid, Auric Record Keeper, Copperhall Elite, and a pair of Argo Ironthorns for added utility. In addition, we're also packing Leyline Tracer, who can get big in a hurry thanks to our compliment of easily-amplified spells. There's Speed Grafter and Transpose, whose only job in the early game is to fetch our lone copy of Bastion Garrison from the market in order to capitalize on our spell base. This turns Martial Efficiency into a nasty combat trick, and Frostwave can easily turn the tide of an enemy's attack.

    Question about card interactions

    Posted: 22 Jan 2021 10:23 AM PST

I just had a game where my opponent was playing Nightmare Prism, and removed the influence requirements from Beacon of the Reach. I drew Send an Agent from his deck with Tome of Horrors, but could not target his Beacon of the Reach even though there was no influence indicated on the card.

I am sure it is supposed to work this way, but it feels unintuitive to see that the card has lost it's influence requirements, but I can't target it with Send an Agent.

Where are the Expedition aggro decks?

    Posted: 21 Jan 2021 06:28 PM PST

With the rotation of good aggro units like Champion of Fury/Chaos, Milos, Jekk and Thunder of Wings, Expedition feels like endless value games. The lack of good charge units makes sites unstoppable unless the owner is far behind (though Speaking Circle can still luck out from there).

I find myself conceding to turn 3 Sling, turn 2/3 Merriest if I don't have my 8-12 maindeck answers, last ditch Speaking Circle that disables my only unit, etc. There's a slim chance of victory but more likely for the snowball value train to go wild. It feels like the trifaction greed pile meta from years back that jam the best cards from their factions because there's no risk of dying by turn 5 to something like Yetis or Stonescar.

Kitaxius only gets one stack of Warcry from his effect, is this intended or a bug?

    Posted: 21 Jan 2021 07:23 PM PST

So I've been experimenting with Kitaxius a little, played Sword of Icaria, he got a stack of Warcry and passed it on to all the weapons, plus the +1/+1.. so far so good..
But when I play a Warcry 2 or higher weapon, his own Warcry only increases by 1, is this intended to be like this? Because it seems he properly passes on the full stacks, just only takes 1 onto his own existing stack.

Looks like a bug to me, if you ask me.

    Is this game dying ?

Noticing a drop in people playing, always same people in top 100, easier to get lower rank in sealed, masters act.

Hey guys, it's Osidan. Today, I'm giving you a deck I've been working on today, it's Stonescar Twist. I've written quite a bit of comment on Eternal Warcry how I built it and why I added what I did add. If you're interested, check it out! I'm having a blast playing it and I'm really happy with how it turned out. I hope you will find some inspiration from it, it sure is an unusual strategy and it challenged my deck building skills. Alright, thanks for reading, take care! <3 Osidan
