| Posted: 10 Jan 2021 05:58 AM PST As an experiment, I'm trying to spend a month ranking with a fairly vanilla Hooru Control and I've hit a wall in Silver II. Along the way I'm really getting punished by curse heavy mirrors. While researching these decks, I stumbled upon an intersection pattern in the lore. Gryffyns seem to go hand in hand with curses, and I was wondering if there was any folkloric inspiration for this association. I'm used to seeing ferocious bird cat things associated with nobility and heraldry; I wonder if this is meant to imply something about the Unseen, or "nobility as a curse?" | OldIronNuts Casual Saturday Night Tourney: Going Big! Posted: 09 Jan 2021 03:15 PM PST Tonight we will be playing decks that contain at least eight each of: 6, 7 and 8+ power cost unit cards. You may replace lower power cost units with higher power cost units but not the other way around (example: If you want to bring twelve units that cost 7 power and also twelve that are 8+ power then go for it but you cant bring twelve that cost 6 and twelve that cost 7 power.) Units that cost less than 6 are not allowed at all. Also, so this doesn't degenerate into a face fest we are limiting the use of relic weapons and spells that deal damage to the enemy player to 8 combined total. Please note that these numbers apply to your main deck and market! As always, original brews are encouraged over net decks; nothing is at stake tonight but a good time! The stream usually starts at 9 pm CST and unless a lot of people show up early and ready to go, the tourney generally starts 1-2 hours after that. We have very long streams on Saturdays; at least 8 hours but usually 10 or even 12 hours. This means people from many time zones can drop in and play or watch and see if they get inspired to throw a deck together to play with us as long (or briefly) as they wish. So please do stop by OldIronNut's Twitch stream tonight to watch our knights, lords and ladies battle it out, and if this sounds fun to you, all you have to do to enter is show up with a Throne deck that conforms to the above rules! | Cursed relic + Coretap Maximizer? Posted: 09 Jan 2021 08:36 PM PST Do cursed relics not give you the power boost for Coretap Maximizer? I had in my head for some reason that they were still "your" relics & therefore should count. am i off here? not a huge deal just cost me my third game on a draft run. no biggie just lost me 5k gold. not a big thing or anything but it did cause me to lose.
