First ever constructed Master Rank, with none other than...

    Posted: 24 Oct 2019 07:04 AM PDT

    Praxis Ramp! With in-game username

I don't know what it was, but I started at Gold 1, and after an easy street to Diamond 3, I decided to keep using this deck, buckle down, and grind out to Master rank.

... Several hours and bottles of alcohol later, I've made it! I first netdecked the list from this lovely individual, made a few tweaks, and feel I've hit a better (though not fully optimized) version of this list.

This deck is much less vulnerable to bad draws and board wipes than many other Praxis Ramp lists, which helps it quite a bit in my opinion. If you have any questions about anything, please ask away! I'm not an expert, except in pretending to be an expert!

(And yes, in retrospect, I should've streamed the experience. But, there might've been too many tears and frustrated desk slams for a twitch audience to tolerate.)

    Are Twitch drops not working?

    Posted: 24 Oct 2019 10:16 AM PDT

Are twitch drops not happening for anyone else? Been watching a couple hours today without any drops (stream says Drops Enabled).

They're also not happening silently and showing in the game client like they did a short while back.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure the problem was watching a stream with waystone disabled (even though the stream said "drops enabled" the waystone was off).

My Dragons & Cultists Brew [Expedition]

    Posted: 24 Oct 2019 03:44 AM PDT

Hello everybody, Fanderay here, and today I'd like to share with you my Dragons & Cultists deck. ---> EWC Link

I think we can all agree that Karvet, Solar Dragon is awesome!! He's really good just by himself and in a Cultist deck, but in my opinion he can shine also in a Dragon + Cultist deck and so here's my list. We have 12 cultists and 16 dragons with a lot of synergies. Dracowitch Razca is surprisingly good, she can trasform every dragon in a real threat, especially Raging Firemaw (because of his twist ability) and Eclipse Dragon (because of charge). Another great unit is Vile Collaborator, his ability has a lot of potential and should not be understimated. Cozin Darkheart is a great defender, grants card draws and plays a dragon. Voprex's Choice can act as a removal or can be comboed with Fell Ritual to gain another great dragon.
Regarding the market the Edicts are awesome (I use them in every Expedition deck XD) and Malediction is great against go-wide decks like Rakano Oni.

As always, any suggestion will be much appreciated ;)
Hope you like the idea and give my list a try.
    Cheers!!

[Feedback] Expedition is very cool in theory but has a flaw right now that may need to be adressed at some point

    Posted: 24 Oct 2019 01:39 PM PDT

I would like to share my experience of returning to eternal for a few days, why it didn't grab me again and why it either has a mayor flaw or works perfectly as intended (depending on what DwD is going after).

Expedition in Theory seems like a really cool concept. It's give a game that just has too many sets and cards for new players to ever propperly get into (starting a game and learning & collecting 5+ years of sets is a big entry wall) and many old players to stay invested (there is only so many times you feel like looking at Sandstorm titan), some potential new life. And the curated packs as part of expedition allow some further creative control on part of DwD.

There are some small issues like it being tricky to collect speciffically for Expedition, Expedition not looking like a super serious mode atm (just the way it's presented) or not knowing how long it runs but this can and I'm sure will be adressed very soon.

The Big issue is the power level between the two sets. Maybe this jumped at me so much because I am not a regular Veteran with a full collection but someone who has tons of old cards but none from the new set. But once I realized it, it became super apparent. Aside from some power stuff and permafrost about 80-90% of almost all meta decks are from the new set. The cards from Flames are so much more powerful, it makes little sense to play old cards.

And it's completely logical once you think about it. The newest set was released as a 'thrones set' meaning that it HAD to be more powerful so that players who already owned the previous sets had an incentive to buy packs. It's quite a common and valid sales strategy in CCG circles, particularly if your system is that nothing rotates out. But it leaves Expedition in this awkward slot where the old cards are mostly useless and you need all the new cards to play propperly.

If that was intended, take this as a confirmation that it works. I personally couldn't really get back into the game because of that but others will certainly be more enduring or willing to spend a bit more to get the new cards.
But if the point of Expedition is that it is supposed to bring a new enviroment in which new cards can bloom without having to power creep while old previously less played cards also get a renaisance, then Expedition needs to find a way to adress this power differential over the long term.

I hope that was helpfull/interesting and you will all keep enjoying Eternal and have a ton of fun with Expedition. the community certainly still seems helpful and supportive.

    All the best,

    Flame of Xulta Draft 3

    https://youtu.be/5tY5SmBZVy4

Included in the video is two different limited run throughs. I will admit the game play didn't go so well, and thus why two drafts were included. That being said I try not to post only when I do well as we are all learning together and I do mind being human and showing the good and the bad. That being said I do feel both draft portions are able to show case some interesting decisions and skill sets. So for the sake of being educational I'm sharing them with you all to include an audible in pack 2 once we identified the correct or "open seat" in the draft so we could make the best deck possible.

Am I crazy for thinking there's a token sacrifice deck possible involving relics and rat cage?

    Posted: 23 Oct 2019 07:58 PM PDT

With cards like Rat Cage, Unkindness, Wurm Bait and Waystone Fragment, I just feel like something could be there. Splash red maybe for sacrifice effects and maybe Profane Nexus. Unfortunately I don't have the deck building expertise to make a good proof of concept, but I just wanted to see if people think it would have potential or if I was wasting time.

League: better do all 40 games or stay with a good ratio ?

    Posted: 23 Oct 2019 07:21 PM PDT

    Hello there,

This is my first league and I was wondering, is it better to play all your games or to keep with a good ratio ?

For example I'm now at 9v/8l (not a good ratio but still, for the example) and ranked 1749th.

If I play and loose one, two, three more, will I downgrade in rank or will I be rewarded for playing more games, and thus only victories + games count matters (instead of w/l ratio) ?
