Lynax, Moltenwing and Heavy Artillery Posted: 03 Jan 2021 02:03 PM PST The interaction between these two keeps not working the way I expect it to and it's kinda doing my head in. A trigger seems to be asked for, but just get lost somewhere in the "stack". Latest example: I have Lynax in play, and Artillery on top of my deck. I play Artillery with the Valkyrie Warp effect, so I get the extra +3/+3 weapon from Artillery's Warp effect. Game instructs me to choose who gets +3/+3 weapon. I choose Lynax. So far so good. Game asks me to deal 4 damage to a target, so this is the cost of the Artillery through Lynax's effect. My opponent has two creatures, a 2/1 (Pyro whatever, the "pay 5 to get huge" one) and a 3/3 (Valkyrie Spireguard). I target the 3/3. Game asks me to deal 5 damage to a target, which is the cost of the +3/+3 weapon being "played" through artillery's effect. I target their face, with the intent of using the relic weapon to kill the 2/1 (which is a misplay, but I have another Artillery in hand so I'm being super greedy). End result: Opponent takes 5, I kill the 2/1 with the relic weapon... and the 3/3 survives because the 4 damage doesn't happen!?!?!? Am I missing a clause somewhere that's not obvious? I even took it as slow as I could this game because I know it's been weird previously, but it just never seems to work how I expect it to. [link] [comments] | ||
New player seeeking sealed pool advice Posted: 03 Jan 2021 09:35 AM PST I'm an MTG player who is very new to Eternal: I did the tutorial and have done a few gauntlets, but I've only done enough versus games to unlock the sealed event. Sealed League seems like an awesome idea and I've read that it's a good way to build your collection. I normally enjoy sealed in MTG, but being so new to Eternal I don't know enough about the cards/mechanics to really get my footing. I'm off to a 0-3 start with my pool. I did one match as Fire/Time and two as Fire/Shadow. I have the most units in Fire (with Primal and Shadow having the second most units). I like that I have two Laser Blast in Fire for removal and two Razorbots and a Sludge Blade in Shadow. I've been playing Raildriver and Mandrake Simulacrae in every build. I'm losing to decks with better units and lower curve. Market effects seem bad with this small pool. I wonder if I'm overlooking bombs in other factions. Does anyone have any advice for what direction I might go with this pool? I don't expect much since it's my first time out and I'm brand new to the game, but I think with a little help I might be able to do better than 0% winrate. Looking for deck help as I try and get back into the game Posted: 02 Jan 2021 06:56 PM PST I stopped playing around Echoes of Eternity in which i have about 80% of the set and ~95% completion of all the sets before it so I have a decent collection for Throne. As for decks, I used to play Sol's Rest, Big Praxis, Big Combri, Grenadin Witching hour, and some West-Wind Harald combo decks. are any of these decks still viable? Have there been any majors changes in how things work? I'v poked around Eternal Warcry but haven't really seen anything that looks familiar to me as far as decks go. [link] [comments] | ||
