Eternal Card Game Lore Question - Who is the Player?

Eternal Card Game Lore Question - Who is the Player?

Lore Question - Who is the Player?

    Posted: 04 Apr 2021 10:40 AM PDT

Has this ever been addressed by DWD or the lore? I kind of got the impression that we are Commander McPlayer of an army and that Power and Influence as in-lore mechanics are kind of like Reputation, and that summoning Units wasn't magical in nature, but was the actual living person/thing actually being rallied to our cause.

While that might raise questions like how can we have multiples of the same named unit, or units at differing stages of the lore like Baby Vara and Big Vara at the same time, but Game mechanics gotta game mechanics eventually.

I'd like to do some creative writing stuff for Eternal, but I couldn't find any information on the basics of the lore to the mechanics of the game.

    How F2P is the game?

    Posted: 04 Apr 2021 01:37 PM PDT

Hi, card game vet looking for something to play.

How f2p is the game if i plan to be competitive?

what are tournament structures and how long does it take for an f2p new player to grind out a lineup for a tournament?

how often do balance changes happen, when will my decks become obsolete?

how does this game compare to magic (legacy), gwent, runeterra?

how large and active is the community?

i've read the beginners thread on the sidebar. any other tips appreciated!

Hi everyone I'm new to this game and I'm trying to build a justice and shadow deck together how many sigils should I add?

Things we will need to look into before the expedition ECQ

    Posted: 04 Apr 2021 12:32 PM PDT

Hey everyone popo told me we still don't know what is going to be in expedition since things will change before the ECQ...

BUT I'm pretty sure some things will be there, mostly the latest things. Recently I've hit masters with some mandrake stuff, the record is 26 - 6 with the last version. Who do we owe the beeg weens? Krull - The fact that you can just splash 1 primal influence into your deck to play grenahen and know when to krull 'em its absolutely broken, so lets get into my usual stuff, nerfs:

Regen-merchant-mandrake (only god knows its name): the posibility of blocking a 20/20 overwhelm and deadly without suffering any drawback its way too strong, its even better than the "nightmares" sacrifical expansion, I can block with my unit and sacrifice it later while nulifying 2 (or more) of my enemies battle skills.

Suggestion: Its now a 1/4 without regen.

Krull: I think the best 2 decks in expedition I've saw use krull and regen/deadly merchant, the idea of playing 4 units in a row by paying HP its just bananas, it goes against all of the rules of the game.

Suggestion: Remove the fate effect or it now cost 5 shadow influence to resurect (and I'm not sure this will solve the problem).

Exploit: The posibility to discard a key card from my opponent won me a million games against the machinations combo, we've seen in throne what that card does, it has the same power level of golem IMO, people already used mug, now its CHEAPER AND IT PLUNDERS (and don't get me wrong I love plunder, put it into everything).

    Suggestion: It costs 3 now.

Grenahen: The fact that this unit can draw another units AND DAMAGE SPELLS its too powerful, plus it discards, which is actually the reason I use it in my mandrake deck.

Suggestion: Grenahen can only draw other grenadins and damage spells. (or other creatures with something specific, for example "only units with lifesteal")

To be clear, I don't think its okey that we can abuse krull in every deck. This card is the new Friends in Low Places.
